MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 1999--XMLSolutions Corporation, a leader in E2E(SM) (end-to-end) business e-commerce solutions, today announced the general availability of the ExeterXML Server(TM) release 1.0.
ExeterXML Server can apply server-side style sheets to XML documents, allowing customers to begin fielding XML applications today without worrying about the client capabilities. ExeterXML Server has the built in logic to recognize the capabilities of the requesting application or browser to determine whether or not to serve an XML or HTML document.
``We have found that many companies do not want to incur the expenses and delays associated with upgrading desktop PC software as is required to work with XML at this time. With our server product, companies can exploit the value of XML without having the overhead costs associated with these upgrades,'' stated Jeff Ricker, President of XMLSolutions Corp.
The ExeterXML Server utilizes the power of IBM's WebSphere(a) Application Server to provide servlet processing which offers enhanced application integration capabilities and architectural flexibility.
State-of-the-art scalability allows ExeterXML Server to accommodate the ever-changing workload requirements demanded by e-commerce systems, and the performance capabilities to handle high volume e-commerce transactions.
XMLSolutions also employs the WebSphere Studio application for Web site development and implementation. This team-based application empowers web content providers to rapidly enhance or alter web site information through a user-friendly interface.
Additionally, our dispersed development team utilizes VisualAge for Java to rapidly develop and deploy servlet technology that is the cornerstone to the ExeterXML Server application.
``By joining forces with IBM and integrating IBM's WebSphere with the ExeterXML Server, XMLSolutions is demonstrating their commitment to helping customers manage the dynamics of large-volume e-commerce,'' said Dan Russell, director, ISV worldwide software sales & Marketing, IBM Software Group. ``Our mutual customers will be able to confidently enhance their business by taking advantage of the speed-of-deployment and adaptability of this integrated solution.''
Today, the ExeterXML Server supports the Windows NT(b), Linux, and Solaris 2.5.1 platforms. A future release scheduled for early October will include support for the AIX platform. To download the latest release, please visit http://www.xmls.com/products/server.html.
