In the meantime, I&#039;ve already gotten Lois a newer laptop, and gifted the old one to a friend in need, who hasn&#039;t had any issues with it (and the 1GB stick) for a year. 		<description>Its usually just one of the capacitors near the memory slot that is dry. Usually they will seem to bulge a bit. Replace them and the slot will be fine. :)</description>
