I've never done that, but I have a feeling that I may know roughly where it is. When we leave the office to go home, we usually drive over the bridge at William Street and then hang the left toward the battlefield, which hugs the river. It's a gorgeous drive, and we then go under Route 1 to connect with 17 to I95.

I've also driven (with you as well) down Fall Hill Avenue to Central Park, so I can sort-of put the two images together in my mind.

I'm game to try it with you some time, perhaps on our next trip down. Of course, it will be super hot, but we'll figure it out... :-)

Have you ever walked on the Canal path in Fredericksurg? It cuts through some wetlands that the students at James Monroe are maintaining, and is really quite pretty. It's also useful, as it crosses under Route 1 right next to the CVS, and meets Fall Hill Ave a couple of miles from Central Park (about halfway from my house to Carabas). I keep thinking it would be fun to walk to Carabas, have food, and then walk back. But I haven't done it yet.
