Ricky, thank you so much for sharing this insight with us. We always love to understand how/why certain things come to be.
I already became “friends” with Hillary on her MySpace page and posted a link to this blog for the rest of her fans.
In the note that I wrote to her requesting to be added as a friend, I told her that my wife was the one who came up to her at the end of the show and told her that she so moved when Hillary performed Stronger.
We both think that she's a brilliant songwriter, but her songwriting is equaled by her perfect voice!

I enjoyed your review of CMA's at Joe's… I'm Hillary Lindsey's Dad… Wish I could have been there to see her perform. You asked why she hasn't signed a recording deal… She thought about it when she started in the business but decided that she would prefer staying behind the scenes because she didn't want to give up her autonomy or control of her time…That said, she does “play out” when the mood strikes her.
