Thanks for sharing that Eric. It's nice to know that the performances in the "other" cities are so solid as well. In fact, Kate Reinders, who was also an extraordinary Glinda, starred in Chicago for a long time before coming to Broadway. When she was there, Ana Gasteyer (of Saturday Night Live fame) played Elphaba opposite her. Then, for a limited run at the end of 2007, Ana played Elphaba on Broadway opposite Kate again (and we got to see her once). She was very good, but no quite as good as Dee and Eden.

Come to NYC with your wife, and make us go for our 9th time with the two of you. ;-)

EIGHT times?!? Wow.

I've seen it just twice, and enjoyed it thoroughly on both occasions.

We saw Wicked first in Chicago with Erin Mackey as our Glinda. I agree -- she's amazing.

And last fall we saw the show in Los Angeles. I wish I could remember who played Elphaba, because her performance was stunning. In fact, I recall saying that I felt most of the Los Angeles cast was a little better than what we saw in Chicago, except Glinda. Erin Mackey's Glinda was utterly perfect.

Indeed! And, they were sneaky, to boot, since we didn't know we were being treated until that morning, when Laura scolded me (over IM) not to "interfere with their desire to treat us!". ;-)
