A few weeks back, I was interviewed by two guys, Scott Swigart and Sean Campbell, who are doing a very interesting survey called How Software Is Built. The transcript of our session just went up last night. It’s long (as most of these are), but if you’re up for it, here’s the link.

    Great read Hadar — nice article.

    I didn’t have any clue that you were involved with Active State? I’ve been a minor Active Perl user on pretty much all my Windows boxes for years. Cool.

    Also — I didn’t realize how much Zope’s model looks like WordPress.com’s model. There are a lot of parallels there.

    There is a huge difference between Zope and WP in terms of models. We charge, they don’t. We don’t offer a free version of what we host, though we are still the biggest contributors to the open source side. So, there are similarities, and analogies, but it’s not really apples to apples…
